I am posting this photo to show how despite the raised profile proposed for WC Reed Field  - it is possible - very possible to save a number of trees at their original soil level and provide a swale treatment similar to above photo- in addition, this same treatment could be provided around perimeter of entire area that is to be raised with culverted cement bridges to provide access over these swales.  Not only would this look good - it would help to alleviate the run-off from the raised slope and enhance the appearance and value of properties adjacent to the park - and, discourage trespassing from and through the park to adjacent homes.  This photo shows swale near tennis courts at Zone Recreation Center.
